He has been playing music all his life and turned professional at the age of 23, performing ever since as a drummer, percussionist, and professional Bodhrán player. Brian has toured the world with many traditional bands and has performed at major Irish festivals both at home and abroad over the years.

These days, Brian is based in the beautiful and lively Galway City in the west of Ireland, where he performs locally and teaches full-time. He is a deeply passionate teacher who is eager to share the knowledge and experience he has gained from more than 30 years of playing traditional music at the highest level.

With vast experience delivering workshops and lessons — from very large groups to one-to-one classes — Brian believes that communication and clarity are his greatest strengths, and the key to being an effective teacher and mentor. He is especially passionate about spreading the joy, energy, and magical tradition of the wonderful world of the Bodhrán.
